I went to see the Moscow State Circus in Inverness yesterday
It was everything a travelling circus should be, with a magnificent two tiered tent that had a tented foyer, surrounded by the colorful lorries and trailers of the entire entourage. There was the familiar hum of a big diesel generator and people arriving across the field to see the show.

There was the familiar hum of a big diesel generator and people arriving across the field to see the show.Once I was inside and the show began it was pure magic. The lights, the sounds, the performers, the matinee audience and the smell of freshly mown grass which the tent was pitched on all made for a magical family afternoon; wonderful!
My favorite acts were the clowns Pavlik and Klara they had the children laughing with their split second slapstick comedy, and the Bathing Beauties Irina, Katia and Vika who performed amazing gymnastics on a shiny steel hoop which lifted them high into the air spinning and twirling...dangerous, breathtaking stuff. The shadows they cast onto the stage curtain were fascinating to watch as well. It was all really entertaining, a wonderful show
why DNA why is the moon static ?
I have read that the discoverer of DNA has claimed that the entire sequence for biological life is too complicated to have evolved on planet earth and that it must have arrived here from elsewhere in the Universe but where and how are good questions to ask ... has our planet been seeded by another life form elsewhere:-? it is a fascinating proposition ... also I am still perplexed by earths moon why does it not spin:-? everything else the sun, the planets, the stars, other moons they all spin so why does earths moon not spin and how did it get there:-? I have a theory that the earth in its early years was a double yolk planet with twin iron cores one of which flew off to become the moon, before its orbit was stabilised round the sun. :-o
no supernova ..
:-) the dark nights are fading rapidly as summer stretches into the longest day and stars are not so easy to see :-o but it seems that Betelguese is going through its usual variable star activity .. one day it will go supernova without doubt but not tomorrow or then again who could tell :-o
blowing a gale ..
:-) just that it is blowing a gale :shrug::-o but the temperatures are unusually warmer than expected at this time of year, oh well not long now and another day another year. I read that the giant star close to Orion Betelgeuse is behaving in a strange way and could go supernova .. that would be something to remember! a wonderful day to you all :love::thanks::happybounce:
our stellar clock sense of direction
:-) seven thirty on this winters night :-) as I open the front door there is a view of Ursa Major the constellation, and as I look up its easy to see Polaris, and the North Star tonight .. Cassiopeia is just showing over the roof, and if I step out a little the Pleiades those magical stars are visible .. when inside it is Orion which fills the back windows makes me remember reading of 'Iron Orion' in the prophetic visions of Merlin the national mythic sage written in the 11th centuries AD .. something about weather and storm predictions as Orion rises throughout the winter months.
